EQUATE an acronym for EQUal Access To Education. It is a non-profit organization that seeks to work under the umbrella of inclusiveness, especially for the underprivileged students who specifically have trouble to obtain necessities to sustain them in school.

EQUATE was founded in 2014 by Nabuguzi Anne Marie Josephine and was legally recognized in 2019. EQUATE envisions a sustainable society with more access to education, equity and freedom in which people are able to make informed choices for a better future.

EQUATE started in 2014 as a project called KARABO.

KARABO means “answer” in one of the South African ethnicities. The program’s overall objective is to be the answer or rather a source of relief from societal deficits by promoting social conscience in different communities. Being a tackler of these deficits, makes the EQUATE Foundation’s objectives achievable.

Our Mission

To be an end-to-end community-based solutions provider in the areas of education and sustainable livelihood for vulnerable communities. We seek to empower the underprivileged women, children, elderly and physically challenged individuals by enriching their lives through education and sustainable livelihood skills and opportunities.

OUR OBJECTIVES

1. To reduce the illiteracy percentage in Uganda, with emphasis on interactive learning.

2. Sourcing and distributing scholastic materials for school-going children.

3. To grow children into productive citizens that use their knowledge, talents and learned skills to sustain themselves and help others while pushing the human race forward in areas of economic development, equality, equity and harmony.

4. Sourcing, placing and supporting teaching volunteers to upgrade the English language levels of students in the marginalized communities in preparation for higher education.

5. To be an end-to-end community-based solutions provider in the areas of education and sustainable livelihood for vulnerable communities. We seek to empower the underprivileged women, children, elderly and physically challenged individuals by enriching their lives through education and sustainable livelihood skills and opportunities.

6. Wholly or Partially contribute to tuition for the school-going children.

7. Equipping students in various schools or those under our program with vocational skills as a way of reducing the youth unemployment percentages.

 

8. To provide equal access to affordable vocational skills training to prepare the youth to breakthrough into the world without end jobless Uganda.

 9. To extend entrepreneurial education to both to persons of all ages with emphasis on the youth.

 10. To be an enabler bringing together corporates, groups of interested individuals, community organizations and the communities in need to do some meaningful work towards enriching the lives of those in need.
